Part of NFO Collective

Pet records, kept together.

PetNFO is a free pet health logbook being built for owners. It keeps your pet's story in one place, whichever home, carer or vet it passes through. A separate local directory will help you find the people who care for them.

Why we are building it

A pet's story should travel with them

Paper vaccination books go missing. Families move. Pets change homes, carers and vets. The history ends up scattered across booklets, emails and phone photos, and the person who needs it is rarely the person who kept it.

PetNFO started with the founder's own experience of losing paper logbooks. It aims to give each pet a lasting, readable record that you control and can carry forward.

Two experiences, one caring connection

Keep their story. Find their people.

The directory helps you find care. The app helps you keep the record. They are separate services, and a directory listing never opens anyone's access to your pet's records.

What the app is planned to do

Everything about their care, kept together

These features are accepted plans, not shipped features. We will update this page as each one is built and checked.

Profiles for any pet

Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and more. Each pet has its own profile and history.

Clear sources

Every entry says who added it. Owner-reported and vet-authored records are never mixed up.

Documents and photos

Add PDFs, JPEGs and PNGs. Each file is checked before anyone can open it.

Family and carers

Share with household members at the level you choose, from viewer to family member.

Vet access that expires

Invite a vet for a set time. Access ends when you say, and you can end it sooner.

Reminders you control

Opt in to email or browser reminders for appointments and dates written in the record.

Handover to a new owner

Move a pet and its history to a new primary owner, with their acceptance.

A history you can take away

Download a PetNFO-branded history that a vet can read without an account.

Microchip details

Record chip numbers privately. A chip number alone never grants access to anything.

How PetNFO is sustained

Free for owners, funded by those who care for pets

PetNFO exists for owners and their pets. You will not need a paid plan, a purchased tag or a participating vet to use the complete ordinary-household experience.

Commercial activity keeps it running: optional directory listings for businesses, optional services for veterinary practices and voluntary support. Selling identifiable private records is not part of the plan.

Privacy, security and honesty

You decide who sees what

Your choice, in plain view

Sharing with a vet names the practice, what they can see and when access ends.

History stays honest

Corrections keep the original entry, who changed it, when and why.

No overselling

We make no certification or "100% secure" claims. Where something is unfinished, we say so.

For businesses

Do you care for pets for a living?

A planned local directory will help nearby owners find vets, groomers, boarding and other pet services. A basic profile is planned to be free. Optional extra visibility will always be labelled as paid and will never buy a verified badge.
